  • Antidepressants are another standard treatment for depression. However, some antidepressants can cause weight gain and have a possible effect on glucose in the blood. For this reason, antidepressants cannot be used as first-line depression treatment for women with PCOS. If they are necessary, you may need to try different types to determine what works best for you.
